Jennifer Maldonado, Healthy Communities Fellow
Jennifer Maldonado is a graduate from University of California San Diego, with a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnic Studies and a minor in Education Studies. At San Diego, she worked toward the holistic retention of underprivileged students of color through her involvement in Moviemiento Estudiantil Chican@ de Aztlan (M.E.Ch.A) de UCSD and the Cross-Cultural Center. She was born and raised in Los Angeles- El Sereno. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School where she was involved with United Students- youth component of InnerCity Struggle- and Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID). At InnerCity Struggle, she organizes with seven national fellows to uplift youth voices regarding health issues. She connects InnerCity Struggle’s youth work with a nationwide network through the Funders’ Collaborative on Youth Organizing (fcyo.org).
