Programs
InnerCity Struggle (ICS) has worked with youth, parents and community residents in the Eastside for the past 21 years to promote safe, healthy, and non-violent communities. The work of ICS demonstrates that youth and adults working together are a powerful force for improving their communities and making real change.
Our programs focus on the following:
Familias UnidasFamilias Unidas (FaU) builds a powerful base of parents and community members who are organized to work toward educational justice in public education. FaU builds community and parent leadership that supports a movement for educational justice and advocates for a progressive voice on issues impacting East Los Angeles.
United StudentsIn the spirit of the 1968 student movement, United Students continues the work of organizing high school students to build student power and develop young leaders with the aim of transforming the quality of public education in the Eastside. United Students organizes the student body at high schools to ensure that all students graduate and attend college.
Academic ServicesInnerCity Struggle provides academic services to the core leadership of its youth component to enter institutions of higher education as they organize for educational justice. The young people engaged in social change work need to be provided the necessary tools to role model high educational standards, which link academic achievement & social responsibility.
